Assembled piece will stand on its own with interlocking perpendicular base. Base has four tabs with holes for included yard galvanized spikes for installation in grass, gravel, or dirt. The stakes can be optionally omitted for display on porch, patio, or pavement. Finish is a rich surface rust on all sides and a semi-gloss clear coat for clean and easy handling during packaging and handling. When exposed to the sun, wind, and rain, the clear finish will wear away and the metal will rust nicely over time, looking wonderfully rustic in your garden, yard or pool area. If you do not want the piece to continue to rust (e.g., for display on porch or patio), the original clear finish can be preserved , if desired, by periodically treating with a spray-on clear semi-gloss which is easily available at most hardware and department stores. CAUTION: This metal art piece may have sharp edges or points, which are part of the design. Handle carefully and do not install in an area where someone could fall into or on it.
