If you are using the quilting rulers, the 1/4 inch thick rulers are too thick to be able to start at the very edge of the ruler. You really do need to use the thinner rulers. The only workaround to this is to know how to adjust your pressure foot so that it sets higher. But don't forget to reset it afterward when you are back to normal sewing!!
